Haiti Report: April 2010

I have been back in Haiti twice more, returning this last time April sixteenth. The Lord has seen fit to build the ministry there in a most awesome way. While there early in March, with a team from Iowa and Washington State, the Lord enabled us to open a third House (My Father's House Haiti III) and to place all of our girls therein. We put forty-six beds in it, a new range, refrigerator, tables, chairs, mattresses, beanie babies etc. and forty girls & matrons. It's a beautiful house and only one story so that they'll sleep in it. (Most Haitians do not want to sleep inside and really do not want to sleep in anything two story.) Our team also finished a roof section at My Father's House Haiti I and preliminary work on our guest house, which will also become the residence for Predestin and his family. Table games were built for the children, some preaching was done and a good fruitful experience was had by the five fine brothers who came down. We are grateful that they came.

The girls were moved into MFHH III the following week and people started bringing more children. When I went back to Haiti April fourteenth I found that we had over fifty girls in My Father's House Haiti III and three babies. We also have five babies at My Father's House Haiti I. This has necessitated the rental of another house and the moving to the big girls and the babies into My Father's House Haiti IV. Please pray for us as we seek to outfit this new house and look for additional houses to rent.

After the earthquake we were enabled to purchase a good truck ($13,000) for the use of the ministry. Praise God! This vital vehicle was used constantly to transport kids to school and church, buy and transport food, beds, mattresses, appliances and children to medical care. It was a precious gift of God and will be sorely missed for on Sunday eve. April 18th it was stolen at gunpoint in the streets of Petionville. With little hope of recovery, we pray for the man who stole it, that he might be saved, and we are in prayer for another suitable vehicle to serve the ministry.

While in Haiti in March, I was given the opportunity to begin the purchase of land in Petionville. Suitable land is hard to find and is very costly. The children we serve are in the city area and we need to be in the city as well, so an opportunity to buy land in the city should be taken.

We believe the Lord would have us build housing, on this first piece of land, for five hundred children. On an adjoining piece, that we have committed to buy, an additional five hundred. We desire to build dining/chapel facilities and a school on the first piece that will serve a thousand kids. Eventually we would like to put up to five thousand children on the property surrounding what we are currently buying. God will supply for His children.

Wordsower International, through the ministry of My Father's House Haiti, is committed to turn none of the children who come to us away. We will, by the grace and enabling of God, feed, clothe, house, educate, lead to faith in Jesus Christ and prepare each one for life in their own culture.. Through these children God will affect the nation of Haiti for His glory.

God has lit a lamp in Haiti. Its light is small but it is growing. Through faith in Jesus, His love and His Word, the lamp that is My Father's House Haiti will burn and give light to the nation and to the glory of God.
