Haiti
As God filled up My Father's House I we were moved to plead with Him for another house and to commit to not turn any away. God answered. In September we were able to move almost forty children from My Father's House I to My Father's House II. And the children have kept coming. Almost daily children are brought to our doors. One, two a day. One day five came. Another day six were brought. All from the poorest neighorhoods in the city. Hungry children mostly. The adults who bring them hungry too. We cannot turn any away. We don't want to. The two houses we have are full. Full to overflowing. We must open another house soon. Immediately!
We have identified a house and it will meet our needs for a time. It is in neighborhood of Port Au Price called Mother Theresa and from it we will serve three squalid squatter neighborhoods.
Our prayer is to rent the house (a year's rent in advance) and then outfit it over the next FEW weeks. My wife and I and team of folks will be in Haiti, Lord willing, in January. It would be wonderful to get the house before we arrive...January 12.
Please seek God on this matter. I am sure the Father of the Fatherless has already put the necessary funds at the disposal of His adult children to be used for this purpose. Please pray for them and our staff. The children need Jesus and we need to be able to lead them to faith in Him.
Jamaica
I really have nothing to report on Jamaica yet. I am scheduled to go there, for my first time, in March of 2010. I am supposed to preach in a church in Montego Bay on March 7 and at other churches that afternoon & evening. We will them 'look around' Jamaica and visit orphan works already in progress. This 'report' is a request for prayer in advance of my trip; that I would see that which the Lord wants me to see and that I will be empowered to edify the churches of Jamaica during my brief visit.
