As it is in Africa and Haiti so it is in India, only more so. India is a land of 'more so'. India just has more people. India has more orphans from aids because India has more aids patients than any other nation. India has more malnutrition than any other nation, because it has not made a way for its larger-than-any-nation poor population to get proper nutrition. India has more widows begging in the streets, more child prostitutes, more infanticide, more abortion than any other nation. India just has more.
India has an amazing story of growth and is one of the world's economic 'miracles'. India is amazing. In the area where the Lord has placed us to work, (Andhra Pradesh State, population 85 million) people are building their nation and developing their economy on every hand. The pace of commercial activity and construction, from small to great, is astounding. The State governament decreed that the entire area under its jurisdiction was to be wired with fiber optic cable, so that every community could have access to high-speed internet and communication networks of the first order. Every road is paralleled with ditches into which the great spools of cable are to be laid. The hieght of twenty-first century technology has come to Andhra Pradesh. And all the ditches are being dug by hand! Whole families; men, women and children with shovels, picks and bars, digging and moving rocks and living in temporary shacks, moving along with the construction. Twenty-first century technology being applied by third century tools and human sweat. This is India.
My Father's House India is located in the far north of this South India State, in a small city by the name of Tandur. Our staff continues to do a particularly fine job of caring for and seeing to the spiritual developement of our hundred plus children. They do such a fine job that our home is becoming very well known. So well known that we have had to turn away many orphan children for lack of room to house them. This is intolerable to us and we are diligently seeking God's intercession to find another house or compound to rent, so that we can take more children. We do not want to turn any children away. We desire, in the Lord, to provide for all the orphans of Andhra Pradesh.
It is our hope currently, if the Lord sees fit, to establish this second home in the southern reaches of the State. Many of our church planting pastors, who minister throughout the State, have been entreated to take orphan children to My Father's House. We need another House in Andhra Pradesh State and closer to more of our pastors and the chuches being established through their labors. Please pray with us to this end. Only God can move the heart of a landlord to rent to us. Only God can move people to provide the necessary funds to pay the rents and outfit the houses and feed and educate the children and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let us seek God to move.
