Our God loves children. They have angels that look upon His face. He wants us to do nothing that would hinder their coming to Him. Whoever welcomes a little child in His Name welcomes Him. It is not His will that any of these little ones should be lost. He is the Father of the fatherless.
As I write these Biblical truths I am struck by God's parental concern and our responsibility. There are many orphans in Haiti and their Father has called us to minister to the needs any come to our door, or any that we find, or hear about or in some manner rescue.
As we have come to this understanding of God's call and concern, we have come to a little bit larger measure of faith. We have come to a freedom in prayer that we did not have before. We can go to our Father and boldly plead for His children. And He hears.
The Father of the fatherless has seen fit to provide another house for us to use. My Father's House II has opened its doors to the orphans of Haiti. Praise God! We have been blessed with the resources to rent the house and to mostly outfit it. As of October 13 there are thirty-eight children at My Father's House II. (We moved thirty-seven children there from My Father's House I and, as soon as they were settled in, the Lord brought us a little eighteen month old boy.) The Lord, through you His servants, sent over twenty thousand dollars, over the course of a month, for this work. We had said we would pay the rent ($13000.00) a week and a half after we told the landlady that we would take the house. At the time we told her, we only had $125.00, but God was faithfull. He moved His people to provide the full amount for the rent on the day set. His Name has been raised up. He not only provided the rent but He has also enabled us to buy most of the many things necessary to run the House and to feed the children and buy books for eighty one of our children to go to school and to buy some books for the other students who attend the same school but did not have the proper books. Weekly we are astounded and built up as we watch the Lord provide for His children. We and our Haitian brethren are at a loss for words and stand in awe as God daily demonstrates His love toward those who are least among us. Our staff and the teachers of the school have been paid on time and the children have lacked nothing needful. Praise God!
We have embarked upon a wonderful faith journey, believing and declaring that God is ABLE TO PROVIDE and WILLING TO PROVIDE for His children, just as He has promised in His Word. We believed He would bring more children as soon as the house was open and He has. We will, by His grace, turn none away. If necessary, we will take them all.
Currently there are a few needs. My Father's House II needs a generator and a refrigerator. Some of the children need school uniforms (a law in Haiti) and school shoes. Of course there is the ongoig expense of running two houses and feeding almost a hundred and fifty people a day.
We have need to increase our staff and the hiring process requires great wisdom. Our staff must love Jesus and the children. They are required to be models for our children. ( In Haiti one feeds an average of fifteen people for every employee paid.) Please pray for Pastor Predestin as all the management and personnel decisions fall to him.
Please pray for the children, the staff, Pastor Predestin and his family. They need to be upheld in prayer. Our hope is not only to provide the physical and educational needs of the children, but to lead them to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. We are certain that God will provide the needed wisdom, words and power if you will stand with us in prayer.
My Father's House Haiti has become somewhat of a sensation in the Port au Prince area. We 'actually' feed our children three meals a day! Our children go to school and have shoes. These things, which we take for granted, are almost unheard of in the slums of Port au Prince. My Father's House I and II are bringing glory to God in this hard place. There is much more to be done and many more children to reach.
