India Report: July 2009

So we're not going to India this year, apparently, and so we're just staying in Idaho. Which is fine? It’s hot here, so that's the same. We could find an Indian restaurant so Sharon could remember why she can't handle curry. But there are no orphan children here and few idols of the idol kind. There aren't any bugs or lizards in our house, no pigs in the gutters or cows in the streets, and all the signs around here are in English, and the time is Mountain Time not Indian Time. We're feeling about ten and half hours behind what God is doing through our Church Planters and in our children & staff at My Father's House India.

But God, of course, is not put off by our changed travel schedule. He is working in a mighty way throughout Andhra Pradesh State, and in two other states, through our Pastors and their wives. We have many congregations of God's people gathering in villages where there has been no witness for Christ before.

Our Church Planters only go to villages that have no Gospel witness. Some go to very backward areas without electricity and preach to people who, ten years ago, where sacrificing animals and humans to their gods! Our pastors and their families suffer regular persecution for the sake of the Name of Jesus and endure. The Church of Jesus Christ is being established in these villages and God is reaping a harvest to His glory.

These men and their wives require your prayers to keep going. They have sacrificed much to serve Christ and plant His Church.. Please stand with them, before the Mercy Seat, and beseech the Father for their provision and strengthening and protection. We have thirty-five Church Planters of which thirty-four are couples or families.

My Father's House India

At this time we have over a hundred twenty children in our home. We are full. The children are healthy, in school and doing well, well fed and a testimony to the community of Tandur where we are located. Praise God!

Because God has blessed us, and the good labors of our staff, we have become somewhat well known to the media throughout Andhra Pradesh State. We also have Pastors throughout the State telling of the work at My Father's House. In consequence to these good reports many have brought children to us, especially grandparents who have been caring for their orphaned grandchildren and want to put them where they will get good care and a good education. As in Haiti we have become the orphanage of reference.

We cannot take any more children, save perhaps a new-born or two.
We have had to turn over fifty away in the last few months.
We are grieved in heart. We don't want to turn any away.

Please join us in asking the Father for bigger facilities, or an additional house, our own property or whatever is needed to provide covering for more children. We need to take more children. For many My Father's House is the only place where they will receive Christ centered care and where they will be raised as leven of righteousness for India. Children are starving in the streets of India. Children are starving too for the truth of Jesus Christ. We can, by the grace and faithfulness of God provide both, if we have more room. It seems a shame that a lack of space is keeping us from doing God's will for His children. Please pray for this most vital work in the heart of South India.

Thank you... Jason & Sharon
